Woodlands Generators on hire to Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham Festival runs for 4 days and attracts over 50,000 fans. Held in March, it is the highlight of the season for any National Hunt follower.The official estimate of total on-course betting is £40 million, an average of £2 million per race.

As it is such as important date in the events calendar, providing power generation to the festival represents a prestigious project. Although Tote is powered via the mains they must have a standby generator to ensure no loss of power when bets are placed.

This year, for the second year running, Woodlands Generators were awarded the contract by the principal contractors.

It was vital we followed the schedule given by the contractor. Each generator had a set date and time, including one well before the festival to help the grass grow. Using this schedule, our hire department drew up a plan that was straightforward for all to follow. As a result, every piece of equipment was delivered on time using our own in-house transportation.

Our highly qualified electro-mechanical engineers were permanently on hand during the festival to monitor the Generators and check for peak power demands.

This year Woodlands supplied over 20 generators to support all of the services of the festival.The equipment we supplied ranged from 10kVA to 850kVA generators as well as fuel tanks, fuel bowsers and cable ramps.
